Directing for Film & TV

Christ Gossett - Directing

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS

Directing. What the hell is it, even? Can it be taught? The answer to the second question is yes. It definitely can. The answer to the first question you’ll learn what it is in Directing Film and TV. If you have what it takes to direct, Studio Arts has what you need to stop dreaming and start doing. Directing Film and TV will show you what every director needs to know.

You will look at scripts and learn how to identify what needs to be changed (or not), you will learn how to communicate with your different departments, what will be expected of you from each of them, you’ll learn how to run a set on the day, and you’ll be introduced to every stage of production, from pre to principal to post. You’ll even make a short movie on your phone, because the best way to learn directing… is directing.

Here’s another reason to take this class, even if you never want to direct - Gossett will show you what a director will always need from their crew. If you want to be that kind of crew person that makes directors ask for you by name, this is the class for you.

His own graphic novel series, THE RED STAR, has sold over a million units across six languages, is a five time Eisner nominee, and was voted one of the top 100 graphic novels of all time by Wizard magazine.
