Shotgun is a production review, tracking, scheduling, pipeline, and asset management tool.

This Shotgun workshop covers intermediate topics relating to production tracking and management tools in Autodesk Shotgun. Using the roles of artist, production coordinator, production manager/producer as examples, the workshop provides hands-on sessions relating to workflows and best practices within the production environment.

The sessions cover how to use the features of Shotgun to support customized workflows for tracking, reporting, and analyzing of production activity. Using the Shotgun environment, participants will create assets, tasks, media, and related entities that mirror production activity. By role playing the different types of Shotgun users within a production environment, the participants will gain insights into assets and media generated by artists at respective stages of the pipeline and the associated data in Shotgun, such as shots, assets, versions, media, playlists, pages, and reports.

Instructor: Heather Dinkins

Heather Dinkins graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in Theatrical Stage Management. With more than 20 years of professional Production Management experience in feature films; she is currently the Technology Project Manager for Method Studios, an award-winning VFX facility with studios located worldwide. Working as the front-end administrator of Shotgun, she trains, triages and manages general administration duties as they relate to development efforts needed to support active projects and a variety of workflows.
